Media Center

libraryWelcome to the Stringtown Media Center, where we will do our best to ensure students and teachers have the information needed to succeed!

The Stringtown Media Center is used by grades 1st-5th and books are checked out weekly.

Mrs. Tapley is the media aide at Stringtown and is available Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m. If you have questions, you can contact her at 435-8389

Book Fairs
Two times a year we hold a Scholastic Book Fair in the Media Center. We have a fall book fair (November) and a spring book fair (April). The book fair usually runs for one week and students can shop during school from 8:30-1:30 and usually after school on Tuesday or Thursday until 5:30.

Destiny Quest
Students can also use a unique feature within Destiny to enhance their search and library experiences. Destiny Quest engages students in a visually appealing and highly graphic online searching experience, that is designed to help students easily locate and identify appropriate resources.

When using Destiny Quest, students can see the top 10 books and new arrival titles highlighted on the Destiny Quest homepage, search the library collection, browse the scrolling carousel of bookshelves, view book covers, and link to title details from any computer with an Internet connection.

Library Helpers
Only fifth graders can be library helpers. They have to take a test during the second week of school showing that they know what alphabetical and numerical order mean before they can become a helper. The helpers come in once a week during their recess.
